Oregon’s LaMichael James Ready to Get His 2010 Season Started

Oregon started its season last Saturday at home at Autzen Stadium, thrashing New Mexico to the tune of 72-0.
LaMichael James started the season last Saturday standing on the sideline at Autzen Stadium, watching Oregon‘s thrashing of New Mexico and figuring, frankly, that he probably hadn’t missed out on that much.
“The way it went, I maybe would have played like 10 minutes,” James said. “Everything was clicking, we were playing well. So that made it pretty easy for me.”
James, the Pac-10′s leading returning rusher, was serving a one-game suspension related to an offseason incident, an altercation with his girlfriend that ended with James spending two days in jail and pleading guilty to a misdemeanor harassment charge.
But James is back in time for what could be the seventh-ranked Ducks’ highest profile game of the regular season, Saturday’s date in Knoxville against Tennessee.
“I think I have a little more edge,” James said about sitting out last week’s game. “Being away from my teammates for just one game made me more determined and more motivated this week.”
